About us

Gram Mitra Samaj Sevi Sansthan is a non-profit organization that has been working towards tribal rights and equity for the last two decades in the state of Chhattisgarh, India. The organization's name, Gram Mitra, means 'Friend of Village', and it aptly describes the organization's mission of building a strong community of people who have otherwise been excluded and marginalized in society.

The organization works towards creating awareness and increased realization of the rights of tribal communities, building their capacity to demand rights, and empowering them to take control of resources and make decisions affecting their lives. Gram Mitra believes in and follows the motto of 'Sangathan mein Shakti' or 'Strength in cooperation', emphasizing the importance of collective action and community building.

Our Objectives

Sustainable Growth

We are dedicated to working towards the sustainable growth and development of Dalit, tribal, and marginalized sections of society. Our aim is to bring about positive change in their lives by promoting social justice and social change.

Social Change & Justice 

Our primary goals is to lobby and promote programs for social justice and social change. We work with policymakers, government agencies, and civil society organizations to advocate for policies and programs that benefit marginalized communities.

Promote Social Research

We promote social research that can help us gain a deeper understanding of the issues affecting marginalized communities and inform our efforts towards finding sustainable solutions.

Promoting Education

We also believe that promoting science, education, literature, and fine art is crucial for creating a more equitable society. We provide a space for the promotion of these fields, which can help in the holistic development of individuals and communities.
